Courseware Description: This hands-on, foundation-level courseware covers the essentials of Autodesk® Civil 3D® software, including how to work with point data in Autodesk Civil 3D, create and analyze a surface, develop a site, and model roads, corridors, and pipe networks, as well as import and export data. Hands-on exercises throughout the courseware explore how to create 2D and 3D production drawings.

Objectives: The primary objective of the course is to familiarize students with the concepts and application of the essential functions of Autodesk Civil 3D. After completing this course, students should be able to

  • Create points, change point styles, and manage points in groups
  • Create, edit, and analyze surfaces
  • View surfaces in 3D
  • Create parcels and parcel tables
  • Create a site, profiles, and cross-sections
  • Create and edit alignments
  • Create assemblies, corridors, pipe networks, and cross-sections and calculate corridor volumes
  • Create a grading solution from multiple objects
  • Import Autodesk® Land Desktop data and export Autodesk Civil 3D data

Who Should Attend: This courseware is designed to teach new users the essential elements of Autodesk Civil 3D for creating, analyzing, and managing civil engineering drawings and projects.

Prerequisites:  Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD-based products (such as Autodesk Land Desktop) and a sound understanding and knowledge of civil engineering terminology.
